GCSE Results Day – Thursday 21st August 2025
Dear Year 11 Students, Parents and Carers,
Year 11 students are invited to come into school on Thursday 21st August to collect their provisional GCSE Statement of Results, between 10.00 and 11.00 a.m. Results will be issued from the Main Hall. Please enter the school using the front school gate.
The Statement of Results need to be signed for. We will also be asking for your signature to give us permission to download your paper for either post results services, or for teacher and learning purposes (names and candidate numbers will be removed from these scripts).
Alternative arrangement for collection of results.
Whilst we hope that the majority of students will collect their results in person, an alternative arrangement can be made. Students can nominate a responsible person (usually an adult), to collect their results.
Examination results are the legal ownership of the student and, therefore, any students requiring their results by this alternative means must make this request in advance of Results Day by contacting:
Mrs Bostock in the exams office, exams@wokinghigh.surrey.sch.uk . This request must be made from the student’s email, rather than a parent or carer. They need to give the name of their nominated person, and this person needs to bring in photo ID on Results Day. We cannot handover results to anyone other than the student, unless we have their express permission.
Uncollected results for Year 11 students will be posted 2nd class on Results Day.
Post Results Services and certificates
Post Results Services – these are available after the issue of results. Students have the chance to query results. The exam boards do charge for this service. A letter explaining the services available, and fees, will be in the results envelope and on the school website. The individual exam board websites also have information on post results services.
The results document issued on Results Day are provisional results. The final grades will be on the official exam board certificates which are available for collection from the main school reception from mid-November. The date will be posted on our website nearer the time. These certificates are the ones that universities and workplaces will request to see as confirmation of GCSE grades. It is important that the official certificates are kept safe (as you would a passport) – exam boards charge fees for replacements.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Bostock
Examination Officer
