How to get involved

We would really appreciate your support so if you feel you can make a contribution, however big or small, we would love to hear from you. Remember, you don’t have to join the committee to be involved!

Meetings

If you’re interested in learning more about the Friends, please let us know or contact the school.

We would love to meet you.

Fundraising

The Friends recognise that many people are willing to support fundraising efforts but don’t always have the time or interest to attend meetings or help out at events. We have therefore made it really easy for you to support the Friends and have 4 main ways to give.

Prize Club

We are always looking for more members to join the Prize Club - remember, the more members, the bigger the prize!

To join the Prize Club, please read the T&Cs and complete the application form below.

Donations

Every school year we request a voluntary donation through Scopay of £20 per child.  Your £20 donation goes a long way in raising funds and is by far our most successful method of fundraising – thank you for your continued support.

Gift Aid

Gift Aid allows us the Friends to claim 25p from HMRC for every £1 you give. Please update your gift aid details on Scopay under YOUR INFO>GIFT AID.

Donate While you Shop – At no extra cost to you!

For every penny you spend with your favourite online retailer, a percentage is donated to the Friends. There’s no additional cost and no hidden catches. Please click on the link below to find out more and sign up.

Our work

Your donations this academic year have enabled us to support funding requests from:

English Department
Maths department
Science Department
Languages Department
Drama Department
SEN Department
Exam Department
PE Department
Food & Nutrition Department
Music Department
Facilities

Because of your generous donations, the Friends of Woking High School are able to provide all our children with the benefit of a few added extras.

“Please could you convey my heartfelt thanks, and the thanks of the whole Science Department, for accepting our bid to replace the goggles and visors for the whole department after we donated them all to the NHS, so that we can continue to deliver the science curriculum effectively. I am certain our students will also be grateful to be able to participate in hands-on practicals”.

Catharina Nicholls Senior Science Technician

“Thank you again for the iPad that you kindly agreed to fund for the Science Department. I have been able to use it this week to take photos of some of the activities that have been happening in the Science department and post these to our Twitter feed (@WokingHighSci). If you would like to take a look on Twitter you'll be able to see what a difference it will make for us to be able to post photos of our activities again and raise the profile of our department and school in the wider community. We have also started to use it to keep a record of our practical work which will be an invaluable resource within the department”
