Our uniform fosters a willingness to support each other as we are all one community; our uniform identifies and defines us. When worn correctly, it demonstrates students showing pride in themselves and the school.
Wearing our uniform sets a boundary by placing a student in a ‘working environment’ mindset and helps them separate their home and school life.
Our uniform plays a key role in promoting pride, self-confidence, and a feeling of belonging within the student body. These factors contribute to students’ wellbeing, removing the additional pressures of deciding what to wear and added stress of meeting the expectations of their peers. Uniform removes the points of difference between students, thus unifying the student body and providing a greater focus on academic work.
Our school uniform teaches students to dress smartly and take pride in their appearance. It helps students to prepare for when they leave school and may have to dress smartly or wear a uniform.
Research shows that school uniform can improve learning by reducing distraction, sharpening focus on schoolwork and making the classroom a more serious environment, allowing students to perform better academically.
We work closely with our supplier, Valentino’s, to keep costs as low as possible. We only insist on the minimum requirement for branded uniform to be bought from Valentino’s. This allows parents/carers the opportunity of choice and to make the purchasing of uniform as cost effective as possible.
Within school we offer a wide range of free ‘pre-loved’, nearly new uniform, which can be collected by parents/carers through contacting Reception. We encourage all parents/carers to pass on any unwanted uniform to the school so we can help maintain our pre-loved stocks and support families.
