    Information for Job Applicants

If you are offered employment at Woking High School, it is a condition of appointment that you obtain an Enhanced DBS check and also confirm that you have the right to work in the UK. I knew within minutes of being there that Woking High School was where I wanted to work (students held doors for me everywhere I went).
  • I love this school. Since before my first day, I have felt welcomed, supported and respected by staff, students and parents and there genuinely is a community feel to Woking High that serves to inspire students to want to work hard.
  • The team spirit and support makes Woking High School a supportive and nurturing environment in which to work and I love it here.
  • Looking to become a teacher?

Woking High School is proud to be part of Teach Surrey, an alliance of Outstanding teaching schools and their associated partner schools based in and around Surrey. We work with George Abbot SCITT, a highly respected and well-established provider of school-based Initial Teacher Training to offer School Direct and Core placements.

George Abbot SCITT has over 12 years’ experience leading School Centred Initial Teacher Training and has trained over 200 teachers, 95% of whom went on to work in Surrey Schools and many are now in positions of responsibility. Both Ofsted and past trainees have rated George Abbot 'Outstanding' as a Provider.

School Direct & Core training leads to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and trainees have the option to study for a PGCE at Masters level.

Teach Surrey is holding a number of information events for prospective applicants at George Abbot School in the coming weeks.  For more information on about our programmes, click on the logo below to visit the George Abbot SCITT website.

I have found Woking High School to be really supportive throughout my first year as a teacher, with an excellent NQT programme and CPD opportunities. I have been given the freedom to explore various teaching methods, observe outstanding practitioners and to work alongside colleagues that both support and challenge me to become a better practitioner.
