Year 7 Catch-up grant
The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium provides schools with an additional £500 for each Year 7 student who did not achieve at least level 4 in reading and/or maths at the end of Key Stage 2.
At Woking High School the additional funding is put towards the cost of our Transitions Group class, where students receive intensive and targeted educational programmes in small groups. For the 2018 - 19 academic year we received £10,765, for details of how this funding was spent, please click here. We have received £10,765 for our current Year 7s, have developed this plan to spend the money.
This also enables the school to assess students on a regular basis to ensure the strategies are bearing results and are personalised for the needs of individual students.
