Applications for 2021

We understand how important the choice of secondary school is, and this webpage is here to help you with the decision making process.

We usually enjoy meeting many parents and prospective students to our Open Evening and Open Mornings, but unfortunately due to current restrictions, this year we are unable to welcome you to visit the school.

  • Please click here to view an interactive map of the catchment area. A detailed copy of this map may be viewed at the school. Alternatively, please telephone the Admissions Registrar with any catchment area queries.

  • All applications must be made via Surrey Admissions at:

    https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/schools/admissions/secondary/apply.

    • You do not need to complete a supplementary form, unless you are applying as a Woking High School staff member.
    • If you already have a child at the school, please provide details on the application form.

Should you need to complete a paper form, you need to contact Surrey Admissions on 0300 200 1004.

The application must be received by October 23rd 2020, but applications will still be accepted until October 31st 2020.

The advice from Surrey Admissions is to make full use of all 6 preferences when applying.

Failure to apply for local schools can leave a child without a preference offer, and may mean that they are subsequently offered a place at a school much further away.

Surrey Admissions encourage all parents/carers to name all possible schools on the application form, even if one is their least preferred, on the basis that they may well still prefer this school over another school outside the local area.

Parents/carers are also asked to rank their preferences in the order they prefer them and so, in this way, they will not be disadvantaged by naming other schools. They will only be offered a school at the bottom of their preference list if it is not possible to offer a place at a school ranked higher.

On March 1st 2021 parents/carers will be sent an email, or notification via the app “ParentComms, with the outcome. Applicants who applied on paper will be sent a letter via 1st class post.

Should you be unsuccessful in gaining a place at Woking High School, and you would still like a place, you MUST contact the school directly on: admissions@wokinghigh.surrey.sch.uk to request a place on the waiting list. For some schools you are automatically placed on the waiting list, but this is not the case at Woking High School. The waiting list is ranked according to the Admissions Criteria.

If you have been offered a place, you have until March 15th 2021   to accept or decline the place, by returning the reply slip to Surrey Admissions.

The Admissions Criteria explain the way in which applicants are ranked by the school.

The school never has access to parental preference, so the ranking is completely impartial.

Should you have any queries about the admissions process, catchment area, appeals process  etc., then please contact the Admissions Registrar, Mrs S Moulding , at: admissions@wokinghigh.surrey.sch.uk or on 01483 716885.
